West Deptford, N.J. - The Drexel men's tennis team pulled out a 4-3 victory over Hofstra in a Colonial Athletic Association match held at Riverwinds Tennis Center. The six singles matches were played first then doubles play was to follow, if necessary. The teams split the singles play but the Dragons (6-7) swept doubles play to earn its second straight conference victory.
Drexel No. 1 singles player, Omar Laalej won his match in straight sets as did Jarrod Popovice at No. 6 singles. Hofstra took matches at the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 slots with just one match still in progress. If the Pride took the No. 3 singles match, Hofstra would clinch the match. Drexel's Carlo Pangilinan was able to pull out a three-set victory to extend the match to doubles play where the Dragons prevailed.
